reason 8,345 why sarah palin must be stopped

there are several scary things about sarah palin, but the way she can dodge answering a question is somewhat impressive.  however the bigger issue is that she doesn't seem to have a source(s) for news that she relies on.  it's not like she doesn't know that people think she's an idiot!  she should've had been able to name several sources!  we already have a president who doesn't seem to pay attention to the news; i don't believe we need another person like that helping to run the country!

not for the weak of heart

last night i was innocently flippin the channels trying to find something to watch when i came across the most horrific, insane TLC show ever! now, TLC has some really crazy shows about wide ranging topics such as primordial dwarfism, obesity, families with 18 kids and people with weird skin conditions. but i have to say that this took the cake!

my shocking story - is a show that chronicles the lives of people with insanely shocking stories. the episode i was lucky (or unlucky) to catch last night was called the man with no face. the man has a face, it's just hidden under the nastiest tumors ever. what i don't understand is how this happens to uber religious people in foreign countries and never in america. is it something in the water? what is that about? jose, the man with no face, a jehovah's witness and his "faith" prevents him from getting blood transfusions which has prevented him from getting surgery to remove the growths all over his face. that's the craziest thing i've ever heard. at some point you need to toss religion aside for common sense!

this man's face is so whack that i can't even put a picture of him on my blog so i've included a link to another posting about this show; and it includes some pics.!

really sarah palin?

let's be real!  she's a dumbass.  i think it's beyond ridiculous that sometimes having to share airspace with putin  means you have FOREIGN POLICY experience.   she can barely put a sentence together in this clip.  it's like not even sarah palin believes what she's saying!!

what the f**k is wrong with people

i really don't understand this commercial at all!  are we really trying to say that high fructosecorn syrup is healthy, natural and ok to ingest?!  that's just crazy...

i'm back bitches

i guess i had what could only be called a summer vacation. although i didn't really go on vacation. life has gotten pretty nutty and i haven't been able to find the time to blog!

i've made the decision that for the next 2 months i will be focusing my opinions on the world of politics. this is such a crazy time for american politics that i have to talk about it! i hope you all enjoy it as much as i do. i will still be commenting on the wonderful world of pop culture; but politics will play a bigger role. and if you really think about it, politics and pop culture are more similar now then they have ever been.

my olympic update

every news outlet has been reporting on the summer olympics and i thought i should join in.  i'm going to start with men's gymnastics.
they are all first time olympians and they all looked both nervous and excited to be there.  i always expect that athletes, even gymnasts will be buff and confident but they are some of the nerdiest looking athletes ever!  it's pretty great.
i just found out the men's gymnastic uniforms consist of socks and stirrup pants!  how awesome is that?
i'm sorry but there's no way that all these girls are 16; most of them look about 10.  i understand that all that jumping probably stunts your growth and that all that exercises can halt maturity but come on!  it's total crap that we are supposed to "trust" a government that has questionable morals to provide truthful documents stating the age of the athletes.
despite having 2 of their 6 teammates injured, making some pretty big mistakes and generally letting their nerves get the best of them the us gymnasts finished strong and are in good shape for the medal round!  yay america!

thumbs up

this week thumbs up/thumbs down will be on friday.

one of my favorite things is quickly approaching and this week i have to give a big thumbs up to the olympics!!
the olypmics are so great for so many reasons!

first, the human interest stories associated with the olypmics are amazing. for example the 41 year old swimmer dara torres who is competing in her record setting 5th olympic games, and is so old that some of the other athletes weren't even born when she began her career. then there's the guy carrying the US flag in the opening ceremony - he's one of sudan's "lost boys"and is now a US citizen competing in track and field! how heartwarming is that? during the next 2 weeks there will be countless other stories like this and i can't wait!

the best part of the olympic for me is that for 2.5 weeks it becomes completely appropriate to be super patriotic and say things like "the US is gonna kick ass on the metal stand!" i enjoy keeping track of just how awesome america is by the running tally of medals. if it seems like america always wins the most medals; it's because we do because we are awesome!
